When I saw this image earlier this week, I remembered a season of waiting I went through a couple of years ago.
During this period, I was desperately in need of a miracle and decided to take some time out for a fast. One day, just before my fast ended, I started cooking some rice in the hope that it’ll be ready just when I was ready to break my fast. When I was ready to eat, I realized my rice was still a bit hard and wasn’t well done. Unbothered, I tried to eat it that way, you can imagine the utter disappointment I tasted. Yes, it was literally worse than the hunger. The taste of the hard unboiled rice overcame the feelings of hunger I thought I couldn’t suppress.
So, dear friend, I had to put the rice back on fire and wait until it was properly done before I could try to eat. A few more minutes and the food was finally ready!
That experience was so profound, it taught me a major life lesson on waiting and right timing.
Sometimes when you’re waiting for something, you can’t speed it up in your own way. There’s a reason to the wait, so that you can enjoy the benefits. Sometimes, not waiting can do more harm than good at the time.
What are you struggling with? If it’s not yet time, just let go. Let God make it and form it properly before you start to try to eat or savour the moment. Let Him take the reins.
Today’s note is simple:
The Secret to Speed is Waiting.
Sometimes when you’re waiting for something, you can’t speed it up in your own way. There’s a reason to the wait, so that you can enjoy the benefits. Sometimes, not waiting can do more harm than good at the time.
Always trust the process, when the wait is offer you would be ready and glad you waited .
