I’m super excited to be writing this last note for the year. What a year it has been.
I still remember how I felt in January. I was new to motherhood with a 6-month old, recovering from a leaving a toxic workplace in Dec 2021, somewhat broke, exploring creating alternative revenue streams, and altogether unsure of what lay ahead.
As I look back at the year, all I can feel is gratitude.
Gratitude for my husband, my support system, my friends, gratitude for the courage to dream and try new things, gratitude for my professional, personal and financial growth, gratitude to God, and gratitude to you!
I have thoroughly enjoyed sharing 25 notes of my world view, life lessons I’m learning, my vulnerability, and my story with you.
If you know me well, you’ll also know I’m very big on authenticity and being true to oneself.
While I’ve had some time with family this holiday season, my mind has been constantly spinning and I haven’t quite rested mentally. I’m one of those who constantly makes and checks lists off in her head.
That’s why in January, I’ll be taking time off from posting newsletters. During this time, you’ll receive no new notes, but I truly hope my past notes continue to resonate with you. The time off will help me recharge and write better stuff that’ll inspire you for the rest of the year. When I return, maybe we’ll even get started on a chat or organize a virtual meet, who knows! (let me know if you’d like this).
As I’m not a soothsayer, I don’t know much about what’s going to happen in 2023. But one thing I do know is that it’ll be different. With tons of things happening globally including inflation, supply chain disruption, rising food cost, increased energy cost, and don’t get me started on Nigeria’s inflation, CBN’s crazy policies and the drama towards the upcoming presidential election. You can say there’s a lot at stake, most of which are not in our direct sphere of influence.
Here’s my charge to you, instead of getting worried over things you cannot control, work on the things you can control, you.
Work on giving yourself a chance to dream again, to evolve, to become a better version of you. Work on your habits, work on your finances, work on your health. Work on preserving and protecting your energy.
If you’re looking for a guide to help you with this, I created this reflection worksheet just for you. I’ve enjoyed using it to reflect because it’s quite practical and well-rounded, and it’s helped me set my goals for next year. It’s going for ₦1,000 but only till the end of next week before it’s back to double that price. So I hope you can get a copy or share a link with your network.
And with that, it’s so long 2022!
Once again, I thank you for reading my notes, for liking, for replying and for giving me a reason to share my musings. Because of your engagement, this newsletter continues to grow and I’m looking forward to helping you grow in 2023!
See you in the new year!
