I know, it’s weird to say hello 2023 in February.
You’ve probably already gotten over that new year happy feeling.
And if like me, you live in Nigeria, I’m pretty sure the recent issues with fuel scarcity and naira scarcity have made you forget all about the “new year”.
Whew!
I’m grateful to be writing again on here, I’m also grateful to you (and hey, new subscribers) for staying through.
To be honest, I didn’t stop writing. The whole of January had me writing in different formats: long-form essays, fellowship applications, presentation slides and tech newsletters! Basically, my brain has been in constant overdrive - thinking, writing, thinking, talking (I spend almost 5 hours talking in meetings daily 😩).
Cue in burnout.
Yesterday, I was so burnt out, I didn’t want to talk to anyone, even though I had to. So you know what I did - I cancelled a few meetings, delegated more, and took a 2-hour nap. I took Katelyn’s advise below and did LESS. I’m still recovering and hopefully I get to rest some more this weekend.
I’ve seen a handful of people getting burnt out too.

Listen to your body. Sometimes you know I'm you that you need rest, you need some time off work amd all that but you still want to be present because you feel obliged to. It causes a burnout . So I'll say Listen to your body, give it the needed rest and time away when it demands it.
