In 2022, I started career coaching.
But my story goes wayyyy back.
In 2017, I left my tech consulting job to pursue an MBA in Greece.
I knew I wanted more, but what “more” meant, I wasn’t exactly sure. I just knew something about the way I was living and working didn’t sit right with me anymore. I was ticking all the boxes, but still feeling like something was missing.
So, I said yes to a full scholarship at Alba Graduate Business School.
Fast forward to three months before graduation: no job. Definitely not the picture I had in mind.
In six months, I had sent out over 30 applications - only one company got back to me. And even that didn’t pan out. I was drained, confused, and quietly panicking.
I kept thinking, I did everything “right,” so why wasn’t it working?
By July 2018, I made the tough call to move back home to Nigeria.
My plan? Swallow my pride, call Damola - the partner at my former consulting job - and ask for my old job back.
But just before I found Damola’s name on my contact list, someone else’s name came up and I remembered a conversation from months earlier.
Back in Athens, I’d met someone who introduced me to a Nigerian entrepreneur named D.A. - the founder of an indigenous energy firm, now preparing to launch a startup. I had saved his contact, just in case.
On a whim, I reached out to D.A.
That same week, I had an interview.
Two weeks later, I had a job offer - twice the salary of my previous consulting role.
All from one conversation.
All because I followed a nudge.
That unexpected (courageous) outreach - not the numerous job applications - rerouted my career. It was the door I didn’t know I needed.
I joined the new startup as a General Manager with no clear roadmap, just curiosity and a willingness to figure things out as I went. I had no idea what I was getting into, but it felt right.
From learning how to build things from scratch to wearing five different hats as a manager, the experience stretched me in every possible way. I discovered what it meant to do meaningful work, to build fast, to fail forward.
Seven years later, I’ve found flow.
Flow, for me, means waking up with purpose. It means using my natural strengths (strategy, storytelling, and helping people untangle the mess in their heads) to do work that feels both challenging and energizing.
It means trusting myself. Choosing clarity over chaos. And building a career that feels like mine, that reflects my values as a human, woman, and mother of an almost 4-year-old kid.
Of course, it hasn’t been linear. There have been detours, doubts, and dry seasons. I’ve questioned myself. I’ve made decisions that didn’t make sense to others. But I kept going. I have learned to lean in and listen inward, even when things around me are loud and uncertain.
Along the way, I realized I wasn’t the only one navigating this tension between ambition and alignment, between stability and self-trust.
That’s why I started writing and coaching in 2022 and began helping people like Damilola who sent me the email below:
Because I know exactly what it feels like to want more, but have no idea where to start.
You don’t need a five-year plan. You don’t need all the answers.
You just need space. Space to pause. To process. To take your next right step.
That’s what I want to offer you.
Lately, I’ve been getting more and more emails from people who feel stuck, uncertain, or completely out of sync with their careers. People asking:
Is this all there is? Am I even on the right path? How do I begin when I feel lost?
So if any part of my story feels like your present…
If you’re feeling lost, craving clarity, wrestling with confusion, thinking about a pivot, or just unsure of what’s next…
Come talk to me.
I know what it feels like to be right where you are. And more importantly, I know how to help you move forward, one clear step at a time.
That’s why I’m doing something completely different.
