“I once took an almost 2-year Instagram break (from Aug 2022 to Jan 2024). At this point in my life, I’m comfortable stepping back, delegating more, logging off, or simply giving myself permission to just be without producing.”

I can totally relate to this. It’s totally surprising how this unlocks a new you that doesn’t care about what the world says or does but what is just good for you and your journey.

Cheers to being 🎉

I recently struggled with this same thing. I had started posting regularly on LinkedIn and everytime I wrote something, I'd spend hours rewriting, censoring myself because it didn't fit the carefully curated persona I'd started to build there.

Little by little, the posts dried up because all I had left was fluff, funny anecdotes that had been stripped of every sense of me.

I know LinkedIn isn't where you come to bare your soul but I couldn't find it in me to write the fluff pieces anymore.

Completely understand Chienyem. Stop censoring and write for you, not for the LinkedIn version you think people want

Glad to know I'm not the only one who ditched Instagram when I needed to find myself. It's been two years off now for me, and I have no regrets. The journey to finding your authentic self is extremely personal, and can take longer than you'd ever imagine, but I honestly think it's also one of the most rewarding things.
