Since January 2022, I’ve sent out 17 newsletters (today’s being the 18th). It may or may not seem like a lot, but I’m so proud that I’ve shown up twice a month to make it happen. What I’m even more proud of is how every single one of you has made it worthwhile by subscribing, reading, sharing, and engaging.
On today’s #NotetoSelf, I’ve decided to share with you the thoughts behind some of the favourite notes I’ve written. I’ve also got a sweet deal at the end. Keep reading!
Today, I decided to take stock of the most-liked notes and share them with you. I am guessing there is a reason most people liked + connected with them, and in case you missed them, here's a chance to catch up.
» What season am I in (Note #07)
Back in February, I woke up feeling frustrated about everything. Navigating life as a working mom was new to me, and it just seemed like I couldn’t just get a break. I cried and vented a little, and a good friend reminded about times and seasons, and how I didn’t need to put myself under pressure. I finally accepted that I was in a new season as a mom, and it was okay for my days to start a bit slower because of my baby.
» On Waiting (Note #14)
Eating half-boiled rice helped me understand the hidden benefit in waiting. Life has us waiting for some things so bad you want to speed it up in your own way. But sometimes you can’t. Check out what I did with the uncooked rice here.
» 3 Lessons at 30 (Note #10)
» Shoot Your Shot (Note #09)
This one’s my personal favourite. It got me reflecting on how shooting my shot has helped me land some amazing life opportunities, including my husband. Catch up on the full gist.
» How to Leave a Job that no longer serves you (Note #12)
This newsletter was my most vulnerable, because it wasn’t the easiest experience to go through. In Dec last year, I left my old job without an offer at hand. It was bloody scary at the time. I was largely unsure about what next, but I was very positive and hopeful. It’s been 6+ months in at my new role, and I’m forever grateful I had the courage to leave and had a strong support system to lean on.
Most people spend more hours working than anything else. But for many, this work isn’t fulfilling, inspiring, or anything more than a means to an end. It shouldn't have to be so. We need to talk more about the courage it takes to leave a toxic workplace or a job you no longer enjoy.
Everyone deserves a job they enjoy.
P.S: If you’re feeling stuck in your current job or looking for a change, I’d love to help you take that next step towards a fulfilling career. My one-on-one coaching slots just opened up. We’ll have discovery/clarity calls to identify your strengths, interests, and values, and explore potential career paths that align with your goals. Let’s work together to make it happen.
Just read this letter, can I still have a slot pls😢 as regard career transition
